  • ✨【Transparent & Easy Be Hidden】This air stone for aquarium is made of high quality super...

One thing that I really like about this and stone is that it is made out of transparent acrylic, so it is virtually invisible. It doesn’t make my tank look any worse, but it does produce a whole lot of medium sized bubbles along with a very high dissolved oxygen rate.

Because it’s made out of acrylic, you also don’t have to soak it before using it, plus it is made to be very easy to clean. It is also designed in such a way to not only be extremely durable, but also to stay steadily at the bottom of the tank without moving around.

The suction cup also helps keep it in place. Complete with your purchase you also get 4 millimeter air tubing, which you need to operate this air stone.

Just remember that you need an air pump that features more than two watts of power to operate this air stone.

All in all, this is one of my favorite air stones out there, not only due to its appearance and functionality, but also thanks to the very low price it comes in at. Thanks to the fact that it’s only 1.7 inches, it also doesn’t take up much space inside of the tank.

Pros

  • Easy to clean
  • Steady and durable
  • Easy to mount
  • Ideal for most tank setups
  • Safe for fish
  • Great price

Cons

  • A bit noisy

If you are looking for a basic and affordable air stone that gets the job done, then this is a fantastic option to consider.

Here we have a relatively large 4 inch bubble diffuser that should work just fine with most suitable air pumps that are over 4 watts in power. It comes complete with three very strong suction cups so you can easily mount it anywhere you see fit. It may be 4 inches wide, but it’s not very tall, so it won’t take up much space.

Furthermore, although it may not be see-through like the other model reviewed above, it is dark black, so it should work just fine with most aquarium decorations. This air stone features a large jetting volume of 12 liters per minute which helps to produce a whole lot of medium bubbles that increase oxygen levels in the tank.

One thing you need to know about this unit however is that it can get clogged, so you need to clean it regularly, plus you also need to soak it for a full hour before use. What I do really like about it is that it is made out of a reliable and durable mineral material that has a great impact resistance and much more.

Pros

  • Durable build
  • Produces plenty of bubbles
  • Easy to mount
  • High-quality materials
  • Rugged construction
  • Fair price

Cons

  • takes up a bit of space

If you need a whole lot of oxygenation for your aquarium, this is probably one of the best units to consider at this time.

3. Pawfly Aquarium Air Stone Bar

  • Air Stone Bar: Each airstone measures 4.5" L x 0.8" W x 0.5" T and weighs 1 oz. Well-constructed for...
  • Medium Bubbles: This air stone can produce a cascade of dense bubbles which form a rectangular...

As far as appearances go, this is actually one of my favorite products on the list, and the reason for this is because this is an air stone bar instead of something circular.

This means that instead of just one small section of bubbles being produced, this model produces a wide 4 inch wall of bubbles that is mesmerizing and aesthetically appealing. In terms of the actual bubbles produced, I think this is one of the most beautiful models on the list today.

Even better is that it is available in various sizes ranging from 4 all the way up to 12 inches. If you get the 12 inch model, you can make a full wall of bubbles that looks really cool.

Here however I am talking about the four inch model, as this is suitable for larger tanks, and this unit requires a pump of 2.5 watts, and using that, it can put out up to 1.3 liters per minute.

Just keep in mind that this stone does need to be soaked for one hour before use, and it must be cleaned regularly with a brush.

Pros

  • Cool wall of bubbles
  • Many sizes to choose from
  • Steady and high output
  • Easy to mount anywhere in the tank
  • Cost-effective

Cons

  • Requires a good deal of maintenance

If you want a wide wall of bubbles in your aquarium, then there really isn’t anything better than this.

  • 【Double Oxygen Dissolving Rate】Great to add oxygen to your hydroponics growing system, Increase...

If you’re looking for a very small aquarium stone that comes in at just over 2 inches in diameter, then this is a fantastic option to consider. This model is said to be ideal for tanks up to 60 gallons in size, although I personally would use it for something even smaller.

I really like the design of this unit, especially the appearance, because it is made with transparent acrylic, which means that for one, it looks very nice.

You can barely see it inside of the tank, which is also true for the two transparent suction cups and the transparent airline that comes included with your purchase.

Furthermore, the material that this model is made of is also very easy to maintain, and it doesn’t even need to be soaked before use. Furthermore, this air stone is also extremely quiet, yet can produce an extremely dense wall of super small bubbles.

On that note, the bubbles produced by this unit are much smaller than with most other air stones that we have looked at today, which means that your aquarium should be perfectly oxygenated and aerated.

Pros

  • Looks good
  • Great price
  • Easy to mount
  • Ideal for smaller tanks
  • Fantastic oxygenation

Cons

  • Somewhat limited durability

If you need a very small air stone for very small tanks, this is one of the number one models I recommend every time.

5. AnxunJim Aquarium Groot Air Bubbler Decoration

AnxunJim Aquarium Groot Air Bubbler Decorations Fish Tank Air Stone Set
  • Decorate your aquarium: This cute Groot decoration has realistic carving details, hand painted...
  • Material: resin, non-toxic, will not harm your fish, will not fall off, will not fade, can be used...

OK, so I decided to go with something a little bit special here. Yes, this is an air stone, and it functions exactly like one, but it comes in the shape of the ever popular character Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy series of movies.

It’s just a super cute decoration that also functions as an air stone, with a dense cloud of bubbles coming right out of the top of the character’s head. It’s both functional and aesthetically appealing, not to mention super cute as well.

The character itself is made out of non-toxic resin that is not harmful to your fish, will not fade, or will not break apart.

It can also be used in both fresh and saltwater tanks. It comes in at 2.6 by 2.36 by 4.33 inches, so it also shouldn’t take up a whole lot of space. To mount it to the bottom or side of your tank, it also comes with two suction cups.

Pros

  • Looks very cool
  • Functions perfectly
  • Combination decoration and air stone
  • Control valve and tubing included
  • Safe for fish

Cons

  • Not quite as functional as some of the other air stones reviewed today

If you need a super cute and cool air stone, this is it.

Aquarium Air Stones Buyers Guide: What To Look Out For

Let me quickly just provide you with some important tips to keep in mind when purchasing an air stone for your aquarium.

Bubble Size

Some air stones create much larger bubbles than others, but what you really want are the smallest bubbles possible. The smaller the bubbles the more surface area there is, which ultimately results in the best possible aeration and oxygenation of the water.

Adjustable Flow Rate

Not all tanks have the same oxygen requirements, which means that air stones need to be able to compensate for this. Therefore, you should always aim to get an air stone that features an adjustable function of sorts, so you can either increase or decrease the amount of bubbles being produced.

Durability

Air stones can be made out of a wide variety of materials, but what it really comes down to is that you need something durable. It’s likely that your fish will end up bumping into them from time to time, so they need to have a certain amount of impact resistance.

Safety

Not all products are built the same, and when you get an air stone, you need to make sure that it is built out of materials that are safe for your fish and will not leach any toxic chemicals into the water.
